Lake Algae
- DETAILS OF NOTICE:
It has come to the attention of the Board of Directors that with the hot weather the lake has been experiencing planktonic algae (Microcystis). It sometimes appears this time of year and will likely cycle away with a big wind event. We encourage residents to prevent their dogs from playing in the thicker spots as this algae can produce some toxins that dogs should not drink. In general, it does not pose a major threat to the lake unless we start to see large amounts of it appearing. Thanks to the Vegetation Committee, Alan Beard and Keith Ellis, for bringing this situation to the forefront and Matt Marlow with our lake management company Lochow.
